First trip out with the new toy
We needed a "trial run" for the new trailer before we spent a week sleeping in it, so we reserved a couple nights at Palisade State Park and took it down. It was EXTREMELY windy, but we had a good time. Even better, everything worked. It was a full hook-up spot, which means we didn't have to rely on tanks to get by, but that was OK, since we had plenty of other things to worry about.
It was a good run.
For those who, like me, brag (bragged) about not having vomited in the last N years (roughly fifteen, in my case), and yet worry that they've somehow forgotten how, don't worry. When the time comes, it'll all come back to you very quickly (pun intended).
Slide lock bars, what?
Just towed my new (to me) trailer (2007 Fleetwood Pioneer) home, first time I've towed anything of that size (26') for 15 years or so, and back then, it was only for about a half mile. It went great, I even pulled it into and out of a gas station.
This is news? Really, NPR?
I was in my car yesterday, and this story was on the radio. Really, NPR, the fact that an orangutan will poke at an iPad is news?
Just finished reading The Alloy of Law
It takes a surprising amount of water...
I came home the other day to a bunch of smoke coming from between my and my neighbor's houses. Just as I was pulling in, I got a phone call from another neighbor who had noticed the smoke and wanted to know if something was going on. I walked over to the fence, and what I found surprised me. His picnic table was on fire!
